2 soldiers arrested for CBN Governor's wife's kidnap

Two military officers have been arrested in connection with the kidnap of the wife of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor's wife.

Premium Times reports that the two Army personnel who are attached to the 322 Artillery Regiment and 371 Artillery Regiments in Maiduguri, Borno State respectively, were arrested with the cash that was paid as ransom for the abduction of the woman who was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor Road on September 29, 2016.

The suspects who numbered 12, had reportedly chased Mrs. Emefiele’s security details into the bush and took their victim to their den where she remained until she was rescued.

Police sources added that the sum of N15 million and a Honda Accord car was recovered from the soldiers who are both students of the Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies in Makurdi, Benue State.

George was arrested in his hometown in Otukpo, Benue State while Maidabara was arrested along Benin-Asaba Road.
