Music collective band returns from successful tour in Germany

Alternative music band, Bantu have returned from their tour of Germany.

For the founder of the band, Ade Bantu, who grew up in London and Germany before settling in Nigeria, the tour was an homecoming and an opportunity to continue spreading the message of Bantu around the world.

The tour which held across five cities witnessed impressive turnouts at each venue and also featured guest performances from both international and local acts.

''Thank you Germany for making our tour one of our most memorable experiences.'', was the message from the excited Bantu at the end of the tour.

The tour witnessed the complete 13 member band hold compelling performances in cities like Hagen, Recklinghausen, Muelheim a.d. Ruhr, Bochum and Cologne.

According to Ibrahim Oyetunji, manager of Bantu on their return to the country, "The band, Bantu displayed a first-class mix of Afrobeat and Hip-Hop that evening.''

With hip-hop greats such as , and , Bantu took a stance against racism in the early 2000s. Today he and his band-mates criticize corruption and political conditions in the metropolis of Lagos, the Nigerian capital.

"Equality and justice are the central themes of the band," he says.

Bantu who concluded their West African Tour in April kick-started the tour of Germany on July 18 at the Hagen Konzertmuschel im Volkspark with the final performance held on Sunday, July 22 at the Koln, YUCA Club.
