Popular Yoruba actor, Fasasi ‘Dagunro’ Olabankewin is dead

Nollywood actor and producer, Fasasi ‘Dagunro’ Olabankewin is dead.

Oloketuyi said Osogbo born actor died on Thursday, June 13, 2019, in Osogbo, Osun State.

Dagunro is famous for playing traditional roles in several Yoruba epic movies.

Dagunro’s death makes it the seventh among members of the Association of National Theatre Arts Practitioners and 16th in Nollywood as an industry.

Dagunro has two sons, who are also theatre arts practitioners. They are Kazeem Iyanda Olabankewin and Jamiu Olabankewin.

Details of the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed to the public as at time of filing this report.

Dagunro's death is coming one month after the death of Henry Okoro, a Nollywood director and producer, who died in a car crash.

Earlier in January 2019, Gbenga 'Burger' Akintunde passed away. His death was swiftly followed by the deaths of other Yoruba movie practitioners that include Adewale ‘I show Larry’ Olanrewaju, Funmilayo ‘Ijewuru’ Ogunsola, Alfred Rotimi Popoola, Abe Ishola Monsurat Olabisi, and Gbolahan Adio Majester.
