Everything you need to know about actress' directorial debut

Following the success of "Road to Yesterday," Genevieve Nnaji is making her directorial debut with "LionHeart."

The movie which is being shot in Enugu State features the actress in a lead role alongside Steve Eboh, Pete Edochie, Kalu Ikeagwu.

The upcoming movie which is written by C.J Fiery Obasi based on a screenplay by Ishaya Bako and Emil Garuba, follows the story of an Igbo family that is into transport business.

Nnaji's directorial debut comes after the success of the 2015 movie "Road to Yesterday," which introduced her as a movie producer.

In March 2017, reports surfaced that C.J Fiery Obasi, who directed the critically acclaimed zombie movie, "Ojuju," will helm the project.

However, an undisclosed source told Pulse that Nnaji dropped half of her production crew a week after she fired Oliver Sambo, who was initially contracted to produce "LionHeart."

Obasi, who recently acquired rights to the screen adaptation of , found out that he would no longer helm the project while he was on a one-week break in Lagos.

Speaking to Pulse Nigeria, Obasi said that no reason was given by the executive producers for their decision to ditch half of the crew without notification.

According to the filmmaker, He was sold a dream of something special; an Igbo driven story, which he bought into. However, things didn't go as planned.

Daniel Oriah, who directed "Taxi Driver: Oko Ashewo,"was initially in talks to direct the movie before Obasi was contracted by The Entertainment Network (TEN).

"LionHeart" is Nnaji's second movie from her production company, The Entertainment Network (TEN),whichwas founded by Nnaji in partnership with Chinny Onwugbenu.

No release date has been announced for "LionHeart."

Pulse Nigeria reached out to Genevieve Nnaji's representatives, but is yet to get a response.
