Do you remember when Timi Dakolo won "Idols West Africa?"

The 2007 and premier season of the TV series "Idols West Africa" presented music lovers with the talented Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo, with Omawumi Megbele as the first runner-up.

The entertaining singing competition saw Timi Dakolo emerge the winner, defeating strong competition from the talented Omawumi Megbele, Temitayo George, Eric Arubayi among others to win the grand prize.

Dakolo recorded the rock ballad ‘Heaven please’ to pay tribute to his grandmother, who passed away while he was still in the competition.

Since his win, he has entertained and warmed out hearts with songs like "The Vow," "Wish Me Well," "Iyawo Mi," "Great Nation" among others.
