In anticipation of her forthcoming birthday on February 7, 2016, 400 marketers of BO16 gave her a surprising early gift which was a cake presented over a thunderous happy birthday song.

She attended the event in a peach top and black trousers with make-up done by Ghanaian makeup artist Sandra Don-Arthur.

Omotola has been a pioneer in the Nollywood film industry, successfully becoming the most watched actress in Africa. In 2013, she was honoured in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Kate Middleton, according to Wikipedia.

She made her US television debut in VH1's scripted series, Hit the Floor.
