'TODAY' Host Dylan Dreyer Is Pregnant After A Struggle With Secondary Infertility, Miscarriage

TODAY meteorologist Dylan Dreyer has been documenting her struggles with secondary infertility , and she just shared a happy update: Shes pregnant with her second child.

Dylan made the announcement Wednesday on TODAY , revealing that she found out she was pregnant just before she was supposed to start IVF. "The day I was going to start my IVF ... the doctor called and said, 'Don't take anything, you're pregnant," she said. "I'm just so happy now, I've been keeping this secret so long."

Dylan is in her second trimester and said shes due sometime this winter. The news comes several months after Dylan shared with TODAY viewers that she had secondary infertility , the inability to become pregnant or to carry a baby to term after youve already had a baby. Dylan also suffered a miscarriage this winter.

Dylan previously told TODAY that she and her husband Brian had tried to conceive for six months before her doctor referred them to a specialist. There, she learned that she has a low egg count and scarring from an emergency C-section she had during the birth of her son, Calvin.

This is the best secret we could have possibly been keeping, Dylan told People . Dylan said that she and Brian were in shock when they were told that she was pregnant. We couldnt believe it! she added.

[The baby] continues to grow healthy and strong each day, Dylan said. Im so excited for Calvin to have a little [sibling]; he sort of understands what's going on, but when you ask him about the baby, he says he wants to pet it. So well see!

The meteorologist says it was killing her not to tell Jenna Bush Hager, who is also pregnant , about her pregnancy. Dylan said shes a bad liar but tried to fool people into thinking she was drinking a martini at a recent party by having water with an olive in it. Still, Al Roker figured it out. Its funny because [Al] was the first to know when I was pregnant with Calvin, too, Dylan said. He said to me, I just have an inkling.
