Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III suffers dislocated ankle

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is set to undergo further tests after dislocating his ankle on Sunday.

The Redskins playmaker sustained the injury in Washington"s 41-10 home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as he fell awkwardly on his ankle during the first quarter at FedEx Field.

Head coach Jay Gruden confirmed in his post-match press conference that Griffin is set for further examinations.

Griffin, 24, insisted that he has faith in back-up Kirk Cousins, who led the team to triumph in his stead.

"My ankle got caught on the ground," Griffin said. "It was an unfortunate situation."

"One guy doesn't define this team. That includes me."

The win came at a further cost for the Redskins, who also saw wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffer a sprained shoulder.

Washington next take on NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles on September 21.
