Victor Osimhen beats Gavi, Camavinga to win 2022 Globe Soccer award
Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has emerged as one of the winners of the 2022 Globe Soccer award.
Osimhen on Friday, November 17 was announced as the winner of the 2022 Emerging Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer awards.
The award for the 23-year-old striker comes as a recognition for his achievements in leading Napoli back to the Champions League this season.
Osimhen will not feature for the Super Eagles of Nigeria when they take on a Portugal team without Cristiano Ronaldo in a friendly fixture.
Osimhen beats Gavi to Globe Soccer award
At the award ceremony in Dubai, Osimhen was announced as the winner in his category.
He defeated Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, Barcelona midfielder Gavi, and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.
Others include Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, and Real Madrid midfield duo Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga.
Osimhen despite his injury troubles this season has been the key man for Napoli as they lead the Italian Serie A with eight points.
He also he is the top scorer in the Italian league with eight goals and has a total of 10 across all competitions this season.

Defender of the Year went to Paris Saint-Germain star Sergio Ramos. Brazilian star Romario, former England forward Wayne Rooney, and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic received the Best Player-Career award.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah won the TikTok Fans’ Player of the Year Award and head coach of Aston Villa Unai Emery was named Best Coach-Career.
Jorge Mendes was named Agent of the Year, Barcelona midfielder Alexia Putellas won the Dubai Globe Soccer Women’s Player of the Year award while Real Madrid star Karim Benzema was named the Dubai Globe Soccer Men’s Player of the Year.
Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti was named Coach of the Year while Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara were named Sports Directors of the Year.
