The club has entered a transfer request for Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado.

Soldado who joined Spurs from Valencia last  summer on a £26m transfer fee has struggled to make impact since joining the North London club, scoring just 6 premiership goals.

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that the Champions League finalist have lined up a bid for the Spanish forward who they see as a possible replacement for outgoing star player Diego Costa who is expected to leave for Chelsea in the summer.

New Spurs Coach, Pochettino is currently in the rebuilding process of the team at White Hart Lane and might consider bringing his own choice in attack and defence this summer thereby leaving an exit door for players like the 29 year old Soldado to leave the club.

Reports also confirm that the 29 year old is willing to take a pay cut just to secure first team action. If the deal pulls through, then the Madrid outfit will have succeeded in their second attempt to bring the striker to the club after they were overridden by Tottenham bid for Soldado last summer, against which they opted for ex-Barcelona forward David Villa.
