Former Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is reportedly set to leave Serie D side Casertana for Bahraini club East Riffa.

The 30-year-old Nigerian defensive midfielder, who had a successful spell with Lazio in Serie A has played for six different clubs since leaving the Rome-based club.

He signed for Casertana in the summer of 2022 and is now set to leave after 12 games for Bahraini club East Riffa.

Onazi was a marquee signing for Casertana when he joined them in the summer of 2022, with hopes that the midfielder with experience from Serie A could lead their charge into Serie C.

However, Onazi did not hit the ground running at Casertana, and with promotion looking unlikely as the club sits in mid-table, the club decided to part with Onazi's large wages, according to Sportcasertano
