15 students are graduating with a first class from Redeemer's University this year, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Debo Adeyewa has said.
According to Punch, the 15 graduands are part of the 447 students who will be passing out from the University at its seventh convocation on Tuesday the 29th of September.
The VC said:
“We have 15 graduands, who made first class, 135 others had second class upper division while 200 are graduating with second class lower division. Some 97 others fall into the third class and seven in pass categories.
The set of graduands was admitted to various academic disciplines in the 2011/2012 academic session and took the oath of matriculation in October, 2011.”
The VC lamented that the government had prevented private universities from benefiting from Tertiary Education Trust Fund, saying this was wrong.
He said, “It is not a fair competition when you d is allow some people to participate.”
The ceremony will hold at the University's permanent site, Ede, Osun State.
