10 fashion items LASU students are not allowed to wear

Lagos State University like every government-owned higher educational institutions in Nigeria has a dress code for its students.

Some students may find these rules funny but rules are rules and the management expects all students to obey these codes.

Dress code is one of the rules Nigerian Universities take seriously. The University of Ilorin recently banned its female students from wearing hair extension

This generated some sort of fuss as many argued that the ban on hair extension has nothing to do with academic performance.

However, UNILORIN is not the only university whose dress codes prohibit female students from wearing artificial hair, many other schools like LASU have similar laws.

In February 2015, the management ofLagos State University introduced a new dress codethat banned the students from wearing a wide range of fashion choices.

Here are the 10 fashion items the University prohibits its students from wearing as stated in the dress code.

1. Tattered, Dirty Jeans with holes and obscene or subliminal messages

2. T-Shirts and Tops with obscene, obnoxious or seductive inscription.

3. Face caps or complete covering of Face

4. Wearing of nose ring, very big dropping ear rings

5. Farmer’s shorts, Knickers, Tight Short

6. Lousy, unnatural/artificial hair attachment beyond shoulder length.

7. Wearing of bogus distractive knocking shoes like stiletto to lectures and the library.

8. Shirts without buttons

9. Tight fittings e.g Leggings, Hipster, Patra, and Lacra that reveals body shape and contours of the body.

10. Transparent dresses
