NPFL, Federation Cup champions to battle for Charity Shield in Abuja

The Charity Cup will be held at the National Stadium, Abuja, on Wednesday, February 17.

The People’s Elephants won their seventh league titlewith 70 points from 38 games while Akwa United beat Lobi Stars to win the Federation Cup.

League champions Enyimba are coming into this game having lost their last game to Vipers FC of Uganda in the  first round, first leg CAF Champions League.

They will be facing  Akwa United who they drew with in the Super Four tournament organised by the League Management Company.

Akwa United beat the likes of Warri Wolves and Nasarawa in two rounds of the Super Four.

They also beat Vita Club Mokanda of Congo 1-0 in Pointe Noir in a CAF Confederation Cup first round, first leg match.
