Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo still dreams of returning to Manchester United a new book has revealed.
In the new book titled Cristiano Ronaldo: The Biography, written by Spanish sports journalist Guillem Balague, it was revealed that Manchester United informed Ronaldo's agent in 2013 that they had the money to buy the forward back from Real Madrid.
The Portugal international spent six years at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009, scoring 118 goals.
According to Balague, United have always made themselves ready to buy back the forward anytime Real Madrid are open to selling.
Balague in the book wrote that Ronaldo told a fellow Madrid player that he sees himself in Unmited in two years’ time.
The book insinuated that though Ronaldo earns more at Real and feels the club is bigger than United, fans appreciation at Old Trafford and his history there is a lure for him.
Sports journalist Balague also wrote that he doesn’t see the move happening.
“They no longer need Cristiano Ronaldo. He will remain a Manchester United legend. A memory that both club and player still feed off today,” Balague writes.
