'We graduated from ESUT together'- Fans are not sure Silas Nwankwo is 18 after move to Sweden
In the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Nwankwo finished as the joint-Top scorer.
The 18-year-old recorded 19 goals with eight assists along with Charles Atshimene of Akwa United as they shared the award.
Nwankwo will now continue his development in Sweden after his exploits with Nasarawa United.
He signed until 20225 on a four-year deal. Since his unveiling, fans have taken to social media questioning the age of Nwankwo.
Most of the accusations come from some people who claim they were his colleagues when he attended the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Here are some of the reactions to his signing on social media
Players from South America and Africa are often accused of falsifying their ages to further their football careers.
Due to inadequate documentation, these accusations are glorified but there is no evidence otherwise to state that Nwankwo is not 18.
