Sadio Mane extends goal drought to 4 matches as Bayern draw again

Senegal international Sadio Mane has lost his scoring boot following another blank outing for Bayern Munich.

Mane was benched by his manager, Julian Nagelsmann, for the first time this season in the Bundesliga.

However, the change didn't make any difference for Bayern following a 2-2 draw with VFB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. 

Mane, 30, came off the bench in the 81st minute with the defending champions leading 2-1 with nine minutes left.

But despite his introduction, the Bavarians went on to drop three points as Stuttgart snatched a share of the spoils with a late penalty.

With his no-show against Stuttgart, Mane has now gone four (4) matches without a goal for Bayern.

As Mane, Bundesliga champions, Bayern, have lost a bit of momentum to allow the trio of Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund to close in on them at the top of the table.

The draw at home against Stuttgart was the third successive one for the Bavarians, who are now tied at the top with three others.

Bayern remains top of the Bundesliga despite their shaky form recent but just on goal difference. 

They have 12 points, the same as Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Dortmund who have now caught up with the Champions.
