Prophet Rapes 16-Year-Old Boy During Family Prayer Session

A self-proclaimed prophet has been arrested by the police in Zimbabwe for allegedly sodomising a 16-year-old boy after he was invited for an all-night prayer healing session by the boy's family.

53-year-old Aston Paidamoyo is now in detention and is facing a charge of aggravated indecent assault.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident occurred after the prophet was asked to come and conduct a night healing session at the victim’s home on August 17.

After the accused prophet had finished the prayers, he was asked by the family to sleepover since it was getting late. He shared a room with the victim.

At about 11.00 pm, the prophet allegedly pinned the boy down and sodomised him before disappearing into the dark.

The boy reported the matter to his mother who alerted the police who tracked the prophet and arrested him.

"As police we urge parents to be wary of these prophets. We have received so many reports of cases of indecent assault being perpetrated by these so-called prophets," said the police spokesman.

He warned prophets that those caught on the wrong side of the law will be dealt with accordingly.
