Nigerian students ask military to release Buhari's result
The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has asked the Nigerian Military Board to release the academic qualification and documents of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement signed by the Senate President of the students union, Abdulmajeed Oladimeji Oyeniyi, NANS said there's no doubt about Buhari's integrity and as such, the military should release his credentials
The statement reads in part:
“The attention of the leadership of NANS has been drawn to the failure of the President to submit his academic documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) due to the refusal of Military Board to release his academic qualification documents.
“NANS considers this as disheartening, considering the number of years Buhari spent in the military, to an extent of attaining a General status.
“Information at our disposal shows that Buhari had stated this in an affidavit submitted to the INEC, following his failure to submit the documents as required by the body.”
Moreover, the student union has also called on the management of the Polytechnic Ibadan to withdraw the N32,000 it charges as acceptance fee for new students.
In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, October 25, 2018, NANS Spokesman, Adeyemi Azeez Amoo described the fee as “fraudulent extortion.”
He said that the students union body recently met with the Minister of Education, Prof Adamu Adamu as part of its effort to ensure better and affordable education for Nigerian students.
