4 steps to download and install apps on older iOS versions

Unfortunately, most of these new features do not function on older Apple devices like iPhone 4, due to limitations. Some apps even require at least iOS 7 to work properly.

Apple's iOS 8 for iPhones comes with several improvements and lots of new features like Apple Pay and SMS Relay.

That does not however mean that you cannot get a compatible version of the app installed.

You can try installing other apps this way too but note that this only works with apps that have been around since iOS 6. Only then would there be a version built for iOS 6 aka the "compatible version" you can fall back on.
