Google's hit keyboard for iOS is now available for Android
Gboard, the fancy keyboard Google released exclusively on iOS earlier this year, is now effectively coming to Android, too.
Google released the app for Apple devices in May to largely positive feedback, creating a lot of anticipation for it to come to its home platform, Android. That version first became available as an update to Google’s keyboard and has now replaced it as a standalone app.
Gboard for Android comes with the same features that made it a hit on iOS - it has integrated search courtesy of the ‘G’ button, a new variety of gesture typing known as Glide typing, and language support for up to three languages at the same time.
While you can now search for emojis and GIFs with the app’s integrated search, another of its more unique features is that it allows you to send those search results and GIFs directly from the keyboard.
If nothing, these features are great for keeping you within the conversation even when you need to send information. It is the hallmark of Google’s style - changing the way you interact with information and the internet while ensuring that you remain within its system.
Gboard for Android is available for free download on the Google Play Store.
