Having sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft, Nokia cannot release any new smartphones under their brand for the next 10 years.
However, a recent unconfirmed report has claimed that the company is working on a new Android smartphone.
Although, the deal with Microsoft does not stop Nokia from designing new devices, it merely stops them from releaseing the devices under the Nokia brand.
According to a report from My Drivers, Nokia is working on a new flagship Android smartphone, the team that developed the Nokia N9 handset are apparently working on the new device, the Nokia N9 (pictured above) ran the company's MeeGo OS.
Before the takeover by Microsoft, Nokia released a number of Android devices, like the Nokia X, Nokia XL and the XL+, this new device will apparently be released under a different brand name.
Presently, there are no details on exactly what the company's plans are for this new flagship Android smartphone, and also no details on which brand name the device will be released under.
