Apple on Thursday, February 12, announced the addition of two-factor authentication to users' accounts, which will help stop unauthorized people from accessing accounts, even if they know the user's password.

The security feature adds an extra layer of protection against hackers trying to access users’ accounts. After logging in with their usual name and password, two-factor asks account holders to use a second security code to verify their messaging and video chat accounts.

Apple took these steps after experiencing a series of high-profile hacking of iCloud accounts.
