Adamawa chapter of North-East Youth Buhari Support Group has declared support for Sen. Abdul-Aziz Nyako, the governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The group in a press conference Tuesday in Yola said though they mobilised for Buhari of APC in the presidential election, they would not do same for Gov. Muhamadu Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group said Bindow did not perform to their expectations.
Reading the statement of the group, its state Director, Mallam Aliyu Usman, said the group resolved to recognised performance which the candidate of ADC who is the current senator for Adamawa Central Senatorial District represented.
“Even Mr President said that Nigerians should be free to make informed choice of candidates for this election and we feel we saw a good candidate in Sen. Abdul-Aziz Nyako of ADC.
“Abdul-Aziz as a senator proved his worth in the senate; as a youth he actively contributed in the passage of Not-too-young to run and the North-East Development Commission bill.”
The group also noted that Nyako’s manifesto for Adamawa showed that he was committed to resuscitating popular empowerment programmes such as Local Apprenticeship Scheme (LAS), Farming Skills Acquisition Centres (FSAC) and Special Assistance (SA) programme.
It congratulated president Buhari for his victory and urged Nigerians to accord him maximum support in his commitment to move the nation to the next level.
