NFF Not Deterred By Scandals: Mike Umeh

Assures that the programmes and engagements will go on, disgruntled members threaten court action.

Acting president of the Nigeria Football Federation has assured the Nigerian football community that the federation will still go on with planned engagements for the good of the game.

The NFF has been marred with series of scandals; notably the challenge of Maigari's dismissal by some voting members on July 31, and the threat of some board members seeking re-election into the new board come August 26.

On Friday, some members: Former chairman of Premier league club; Abba Yola(Kano Pillars), Dominic Iorfa(Lobi Stars), Sulaiman Yahaya Kwande and Amanze Uchegbulam, who could not purchase the candidacy forms because of the absence of secretary-in-charge Barnabas Joro at the secretariat, posited to take the Mike Umeh board to court, citing that they are been deliberately denied access to the forms, even with the fact the Electoral Committee had pushed forward the deadline for the purchase of forms.

However, the acting president has mentioned that they remain undeterred, as they look forward to the tournaments and football activities of the National teams: The Falconets' participation in the Canada U-20 World Cup which kicks off on Tuesday, August 5; the U-20 AYC qualifier against Lesotho, the AWC Championship in Namibia and the 2015 AFCON qualifiers and Sunday's AYC U-17 qualifier against Congo.

Umeh said:

The contract extension of coach Stephen Keshi has been a paramount topic of discussion for the board and he, Umeh said they are on the matter to ensure that Keshi continues.
