The legendary German has been receiving treatment at a rehabilitation centre in Lausanne after leaving Grenoble University Hospital, where he was taken after suffering a head injury while skiing in Meribel.

And his wife, Corinna Schumacher, revealed at a horse-riding tournament in Switzerland this week that her husband is making slow progress.

"It's getting better, slowly certainly, but in any case it's improving," she told German magazine Neue Post.

Schumacher, 45, spent six months in Grenoble University Hospital after the accident late last year and his manager, Sabine Kehm, warned he faces a long process of rehabilitation when he came out of a medically-induced coma.

It was revealed last month that an investigation is under way over allegations Schumacher's medical records were stolen and offered to media outlets for money.
