5 of the Most Memorable '90 Day Fiancé' Couples
The whole process makes for surprisingly riveting TV. You see, the central tension permeating the entire 90 Day Fianc franchise comes from the following question: Do these foreigners really love their American partners, or are they only in it for the green card?
I'm a proud superfan of the franchise, and I put together a list of the most memorable 90 Day Fianc couples. Re-live their most legendary moments, and find out where they are now.
Danielle and Mohamed

If any couple best represents the latter half of that central question, it's Danielle and Mohamed. From the get-go, it was ABUNDANTLY clear that Tunisian Mohamed wasn't especially interested in his new fianc from Ohio. They were a zillion years apart, and he...just blatantly wasn't attracted to her. He once described her appearance as " acceptable " (flattering!!!) and apparently, the two didn't have sex for months after their wedding .
Anyway, let's just Mohamed wasn't so jazzed about life in America-and Danielle's family members weren't so jazzed about her new husband's intentions. The couple's relationship exploded, with allegations of cheating and threats of deportation flying left and right.
Today, Danielle and Mohamed are divorced . Because Danielle divorced him instead of annulling the marriage-which she did contemplate-Mohamed was allowed to stay in the U.S. He lives in Miami now.
Most memorable moment: Danielle showing up in Miami to confront Mohamed with divorce papers and evidence of his infidelity...and ultimately throwing a binder at him.
Colt and Larissa

When I say we're living in the golden age of television, it's primarily because of reality TV couples like Colt and Larissa. He's a grown-ass man who lives with his mom in Las Vegas and sometimes makes out with his cats. She's a woman from Brazil who was expecting life in America to be a little more glamorous than what Colt can provide.
The couple's relationship deteriorated over the course of 90 Day Fianc season 6, and it only got worse from there. In January, Larissa was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery , and Colt filed for divorce . The split was finalized in April. The couple will still appear on 90 Day Fianc: Happily Ever After, where Larissa flushes her wedding ring down the toilet .
Most memorable moment: Even though Colt and Larissa's relationship became increasingly tumultuous with each passing episode, their most legendary interaction is arguably when Larissa first arrives at the airport. Here's Colt arriving without the flowers Larissa was expecting.
Paul and Karine

We first met the couple on 90 Day Fianc: Before the 90 Days, when Paul brought like 40 crates of doomsday-prepper gear on his trip down the Amazon to Karine's tiny Brazilian village. (Oh, to see him sleeping in his mosquito net on the boat!)
Despite numerous setbacks involving Paul's criminal record and insistence on making Karine take STD and pregnancy tests , the couple got married and recently welcomed their first child together .
Most memorable moment: Paul putting on a special "penis sheath" before going swimming to prevent anything harmful from swimming up his urethra.
Chantel and Pedro

Oh, Chantel and Pedro. InTouch aptly called them the "Romeo and Juliet of the 90 Day Fianc franchise," because their families do NOT get along. From the chicken feet incident to the we're-not-getting-out-of-the-van fiasco to the family dinner that turned into all-out brawl (more on that later), the American woman and her Dominican fianc are star-crossed lovers, indeed.
However, the couple is so popular among 90 Day Fianc fans, TLC gave them their own spin-off show. It's called The Family Chantel, so named for the way Pedro consistently refers to his fiance's family.
"This is an awesome moment for TLC, as we create a family show based on one of our most popular 90 Day couples, and on a whole new night," Howard Lee, president and general manager of TLC, said in a statement, according to People . Our fans cant get enough of Pedro, Chantel and their larger-than-life families. For a brand known as the destination for love, relationships and family shows, The Family Chantel hits the bullseye.
Most memorable moment: Obviously, it's the family-dinner-turned-all-out-brawl. I've watched this scene so many times, trying to figure out the mechanics of it all. It continues to confound me.
David and Annie
View this post on Instagram Great evening out with Teerak. Happy Wife Happy Life. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. @annie_suwan_toborowsky #90dayfiance #90dayfiancehappilyeverafter #TLC A post shared by David Toborowsky (@toborowsky_david) on Mar 22, 2019 at 3:11pm PDT
David was a job-less, fairly penniless middle-aged dude trying to find himself in Thailand. Annie was a much-younger local who thought David was funny. Somehow, the two of them...are kinda perfect for each other?
It's quite the experience watching it gradually dawn on David how financially ill-equipped he is to pull off a Thai wedding, followed by a life with Annie in America. But I love that he'll do whatever it takes to make it happen, including try to procure a water buffalo as part of Annie's dowry. If that's not commitment, I don't know what is. And seriously, these two seem pretty happy together , which isn't something you can say about a lot of the couples in the franchise. They currently appear on 90 Day Fianc: Pillow Talk, in which 90 Day Fianc cast-members sit in bed and provide commentary to footage from past 90 Day Fianc episodes. It's meta, it's arguably terrible, and yes, I watch it.
Most memorable moment: Every single time David tries to conceal his mounting panic about not being able to afford the wedding.
