As the doctor snips out the sac that contained the growth, she mentions that the patient has had this cyst removed twice before. That's fairly common with epidermoid cysts, as we've covered previously . According to the Mayo Clinic , the "incision and drainage" method-which the doctor seems to be using in this video-involves "making a small cut in the cyst and gently [squeezing] out the contents. This is a fairly quick and easy method, but cysts often recur after this treatment."

When that happens, some patients may need to opt for minor surgery to remove the entire cyst. As tempting as videos like this make it seem, however, the most important thing is to resist the urge to squeeze a cyst like this one yourself-that could open up you up to scarring and infection, the Mayo Clinic advises .
