Nigeria Wine & Spirit Festival 2011

The 2nd edition of Nigeria Wine & Spirit Festival (NWSF) was held on the 21st – 23rd of October 2011, at the Ocean View Garden. This year’s edition was an interesting experience, especially for a first timer, with an array of local and international wines, spirits, cuisines and good live music. The beauty of this event was having it by the ocean; the atmosphere was just right and the music coming from the live band made it even better.

As expected there were many stakeholders, producers, importers, retailers and of course the Press. We had the opportunity of sampling a whole lot of them, some products stood out; with their stylish bottle designs and colour variety. Each brand representative took time out to explain the uniqueness and superiority of their products. One very surprising thing was that most of the brands were from South Africa (With Nigerian representatives). One could only wonder what we (Nigeria) are producing.

We give kudos to the organizers of the event, Spronks Creations Limited and a few brands; Amarula, Savanna Premium cider, Camel Snacks, Northern Compass Vintage Icewine, and Bisquit Cognac, for the warm reception. The festival offers a great platform for all, so if you missed this edition, do not despair we promise to keep you informed about upcoming events.
