Supermodel Naomi Campbell turns 44 today. The British model was born on May 22 1970, she was scouted at the age of 15 and quickly rose to become one of the top three most recognizable and in-demand models of the late 1980s and the 1990s.

Naomi Campbell is of African-Jamaican descent, as well as of Chinese Jamaican ancestry through her paternal grandmother. She appeared on the cover of British Elle magazine just before her sixteenth birthday and has gone on become one of the world's most sought after.
