The 2013 champions saw their title slip away after being beaten 4-1 by the San Antonio Spurs in the seven-game series and James could leave the franchise due to an opt-out clause in his contract.

Speaking after the 104-87 defeat, in which he scored 21 points for Heat, the 29-year-old admitted the Heat could have no complaints about the series defeat and erred away from discussing his contract.

"I haven't really thought about that (his future) just yet," he said. "I'm not disappointed in any of my team-mates, I wish we could've come through and played a better series, but obviously we ran up against a better team this year and like I said I haven't thought about it yet

"I just wanted to try and inspire my team-mates, came out very aggressive made some shots, try to inspire my team-mates to try and get a win, obviously I didn't do enough.

"(There are) mixed emotions, we started off very well as a team, we had a great first quarter but from that point on they were the better team and that's why they're the champions in 2014."
