And just three days after it was released, it became the fastest-selling book in the UK this decade.

It has sold more than 680,000 copies in its first three days alone, beating Fifty Shades of Grey which sold 664,478 in a single week in 2012.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has also become the fastest-selling script book, said publishers Little, Brown.

Bookshops around the U.K celebrated the release of the Harry Potter book, which contains parts one and two of the script complete with stage directions, with midnight parties.

Written by Jack Thorne and approved by Potter author JK Rowling, this is not a real novel per say. It is a rehearsal script, not a novelisation of the play.

Released on 31 July 2016 and The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child became the eighth story set in the Harry Potter universe. The story is set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and follows Harry Potter, now a Ministry of Magic employee, and his younger son Albus Severus Potter.

However, after this book, no more Harry Potter story. It’s over.

“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling said the boy wizard’s story is finally complete. Huff Post reported.

“Harry is done now,” she told the media in London at the premiere of the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” according to Reuters.

“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” she was quoted as saying. “This is the next generation, you know.”
