Zahra Sadiq was dressed up for a visit to the cinema with her friends when a conductor asked to see her child's ticket.

When she produced it, the driver allegedly did not believe she was under 16 as she had lipstick and bronzer on.

Zahra, who lives in Birmingham, said: 'I just feel completely victimised. When she checked my ticket I showed her and never dreamed there would be a problem.

'She asked how old I was and I told her, but then she asked me to get off the bus.

'The conductor just refused to believe I'm only 15.

'She said, "look at the state of you, with all that make-up - you're not 15".

The teenager claimed she was then forced off the bus, slapped with a £35 (15 thousand Naira) fine and left to walk four miles to the centre of Birmingham.

'I don't carry ID so I couldn't prove it - I told her where I go to school and I tried to show her some pictures I'd taken in school a few days before but she still wouldn't believe me.

The teenager, who was travelling on a National Express West Midlands number 14 bus into Birmingham, added: 'I only had a bit of bronzer on and some nude lipstick, I think I looked my age.'

However, social media users have lamented the trend of young girls putting on heavy make-up, one said 'You dress and put make up on to make yourself look older, then complain when it actually works??. cant have it both ways darling.'

A National Express West Midlands spokesman said: 'We are currently investigating a report of a young girl being removed from our 14 service.'
