Living below the standard while he was a player, 33 year-old ex-Scotland and Sunderland Kevin Kyle says he is trying to provide for his family.

Kyle said.

Though not officially retired, Kevin has been with no club since he left Ayr United, living off the 2 weeks wage which equates less to what he earned daily as a player in one week.

Kyle was famous for gambling, he once admitted spending £7,000-a-week on betting, which is just one of his betting stories and that left him off on a low pedestal; he has since devoted time to campaign against betting, especially for young footballers in their peak.
