Doctors discover 50-yr-old unborn baby inside 92-yr-old woman

In what can be described as a shocking medical discovery, doctors in Chile say they found a 50-year-old fetus in the womb of a 92-year-old woman, Estela Melendez, who was taken to the hospital for treatment for bruises.

The director of the hospital, Dr Margo Vargas Lazo, said that the calcified fetus was discovered inside the elderly of San Antonio, is believe to have been there for over 50 years.

X-rays showed a 4.4 pounds fetus, which is believed to have died during pregnancy in the abdomen of woman.

Doctors are unlikely to remove the fetus due to the age of the woman and she has been sent home from the hospital. Lazo said that having a calcified fetus which was big and developed, inside the abdomen is extremely rare.
