Pau Gasol to leave Los Angeles Lakers and join Chicago Bulls

The Spaniard moved to the NBA in 2001, joining the Memphis Grizzlies from Barcelona in the Liga ACB.

After seven years in Memphis, Gasol moved to the Lakers, where he won two NBA championships in 2009 and 2010.

After speculation surrounding a possible move to Chicago, Gasol took to his official Twitter account to confirm his decision.

"It hasn't been easy," he said.

"After meditating it a lot I've chosen to play with the Chicago Bulls.

"[I'm] looking forward to this new chapter of my career."
