MOBO AWARDS 2013: Fuse ODG Beats Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince & Wizkid To Win Best African Act

In a move that stunned a number of Nigerians, Ghanaian singer, <strong>Fuse ODG</strong>, has bagged the <strong>2013 MOBO Award</strong> for <strong>Best African Act</strong>, beating <strong>Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Ice Prince &amp; Seun Kuti</strong> to it.

The event was held at the new SECC Arena in Glasgow last night (Saturday, October 19) and celebrating MOBO's 18th birthday, the night saw performances from artistes including Iggy Azalea and Rudimental.

Trevor Nelson MBE and DJ Sarah Crawford were in charge of the proceedings, and there were appearances from Mutya Keisha & Siobhan (MKS), Ashley Banjo of Diversity, Kimberly Wyatt, Gabrielle, Katy B, Stooshe, So Solid, Ms Dynamite, and more!

Laura Mvula Won the Award for Best Female Act, and Naughty Boy took home the Best Song prize.

Fuse ODG’s win, might not be the popular choice of Nigerians, but on deeper reflection, it’s been a great year for him with the release of his infectious tunes, Azonto & Antenna that literally took over African music and made a huge impact on the global stage as well.
