In what may seem silly and hilarious, news reports have revealed the resilience with which a man fought to be allowed to wear a silly fox hat in his drivers licence photo.
The Oregon based man identified as Bishop reportedly went 9 months without a drivers license all in a bid to be allowed to rock his fox hat for very plausible reasons.
Bishop reportedly waged a nine-month battle to win the right to wear the hat in his driver’s license picture.
Speaking with KATU-TV, bishop revealed the reasons behind his actions, saying:
"I'm a practitioner of the Seven Drums religion. It's one of the Nez Perce religions where we all have an animal totem."
Bishop's fox head gear reflects his totem which is a fox and he refused to be denied the right to practice his religion.
The state had initially rejected his drivers license application as a result of the hat,but a resilient Bishop had been unwilling to give up his hat, hiring an attorney to represent him and eventually winning the case.
