Geoff Ogilvy ends PGA Tour title drought

Geoff Ogilvy claimed his first PGA Tour win since 2010 with a five-point victory at the Barracuda Championship on Sunday.

The Australian picked up 14 points in his final round at the Montreux Golf and Country Club in the modified-Stableford scoring event.

Ogilvy (49 points) finished well clear of Americans Justin Hicks (44), John Huh (37) and Jonathan Byrd (37).

It marked Ogilvy's eighth PGA Tour win and first since January 2010, when he claimed the SBS Championship.

Ogilvy's final round included five birdies, an eagle and a bogey at the par-four 12th.

Hicks surged into second on the back of 18 points in his final round, holing 10 birdies and two bogeys.

Huh and Byrd both clinched 11 points in their final rounds, but they were too far back from Ogilvy " who held the overnight lead by three.

Australian Rod Pampling was outright fifth on 36 points, one ahead of Scot Martin Laird and American Jason Allred.

American Nick Watney ended up tied for eighth on 34 after failing to build on his 18-point first round.

Ricky Barnes, Kyle Stanley and New Zealander Tim Wilkinson were alongside Watney.
