58-year old man stabbed to death in his own home

Tony Fisher, 58 was discovered at his house in Nottingham by his son at about 3pm on Saturday.

He was stabbed to death with a knife.

7 men, aged between 22 and 47, and 2 two women, 28 and 42, have now been arrested on suspicion of his murder.

Detective Superintendent Rob Griffin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: 'We now believe that that there was a burglary at Tony's home on Friday night.

'We also believe that Tony was deliberately targeted in the belief that he had a large amount of money in his house.'

Police are still appealing for members of the public for information about the death.

Police have also asked anyone who spoke to the victim on the Friday to come forward.

Police have not yet revealed the specifics of Mr Fisher's injuries, or what method was used to force entry to the semi-detached property.

Mr Fisher was described as a popular man who worked for Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust for 26 years.
