Former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette pulled the visitors' level in the 28th minute through a Tete assist as both sides went head-to-head in attack in the first half-hour.

However, the scores would stay level for only five minutes as Super Eagles striker Moffi got on the end of Dango Ouattara's pass in the 33rd minute to restore Lorient's lead.

Afterwards, Lyon dominated the attacking play while Lorient dug in to maintain their lead. Ouattara completed his excellent performance for the day when he grabbed Lorient's third goal of the night in the 49th minute.
