How can you take something that's is really awesome, and make it better? Can the hit song 'Surulere' be improved?

Don Jazzy has attempted just that on the second remix of his mega 'Surulere' song. This time he throws in the riveting vocals of Tiwa Savage, to add super spice to it all.

Dr Sid first debuted the Tiwa Savage remix of his smash “Surulere” at the “MTV Africa Music Awards 2014”, performing it alongside Tiwa Savage, Phyno and Don Jazzy. Gladly the full track has finally surfaced and it also features a verse from Star Boy Wizkid.

Tiwa Savage, still basking the glow of admiration and the heat of criticism from her edgy 'Wanted' video, takes a new verse, and squeezes it in to give a twist, which can be described as 'interesting'. In isolation, it is worthy of any song, as the lady of songs drops a good one. But concerns have been raised over its blending with the full song. The entrance and exit of the verse is frictional, and could have been better.

Away from the verse, the full song also had to take on a new form to fit the 'First Lady of Mavin Records. Wizkid's opener was shifted, giving way to the original Dr. Sid verse from the first 'Surulere song. But he didn't have to wait long as he was cued in right after the chubby Sid. Then came Phyno, splashing the Igbo language everywhere, and anyhow.

A chorus ensures, but was cut in mid-play to accommodate Tiwa Savage.

In all Don Jazzy did a fine job, but a more seamless blending will have made this one less frictional. Listen and download the track, it will make for a new addition to your playlist.

But while you're listening and bumping to the song, cast your mind to the magician that Don Jazzy is. With a legacy of hits and success, and the recent 'Dorobucci' conquering one and all, what's next for him? Maybe he'll attempt to bend time? Or make a fine singer out of Segun Arinze? You can't put that past him.
