Nigerian juju music legend, King Sunny Ade turned 70 on Thursday, September 22, 2016. He held a thanks giving service in church and then a house party at his residence in Ondo State.

The party was well attended by his wives, family members and friends including music icon, Ebenezer Obey, the Olu of Itori, Oba Fatai Akamo, Yinka Ayefele and others.

Prior to this he had a party at Houston, Texas with family and friends on August 23, 2016.

His birthday celebration had Kunle Afolayan, Dayo Adeneyeand MD/CEO of Saheeto Small Chops, Saheed Kekere-Ekun in attendance.  Seyi Law, conducted the cutting of the grand cakes and Ajele ‘MCAjele’ Adeyemi was the MC for the event.

With a stage act characterised by dexterous dancing steps and mastery of the guitar, Ade introduced the pedal steel guitar to Nigerian music along with the use of synthesizers, clavinet, vibraphone, tenor guitar into the jùjú music repertoire such as dub and wah-wah guitar licks.
