The death toll from the current Ebola outbreak has risen above 5,000, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday, November 12.

The WHO said in a statement:
“There is some evidence that case incidence is no longer increasing nationally in Guinea and Liberia, but steep increases persist in Sierra Leone.”
"Cases and deaths continue to be under-reported in this outbreak,” the statement added.
Ebola is said to still be spreading like wildfire in Sierra Leone while cases of the disease are on the decline in Liberia.

Mali is also on red alert now after an infected Imam was left undiagnosed until he infected a nurse who later died.
