The two most joyful people on the planet just released a book titled 'The Book of Joy'
The two of the happiest people in the world have decided to publish a series of dialogues on finding ‘real inner joyfulness’ in a book titled 'The Book of Joy'
The Dalai Lama and retired South African archbishop and freedom fighter Desmond Tutu have written a book together to outline eight pillars of joy, according to principles of the mind and heart.
The Book of Joy, is “a unique collaboration that reflects the extraordinary friendship of the authors”.
Subtitled “finding enduring happiness in an uncertain world”, the book is written with co-author Douglas Abrams.
“While happiness is often seen as being dependent on external circumstances, His Holiness and the Archbishop believe that joy comes from an internal state of being. They shared how joy animates our lives and leads ultimately to a life of greater meaning and purpose and greater love and contribution,” said Abrams.
As the two Nobel peace laureates reflect on their personal experiences, they impart advice for finding inner joy. The secret? Not thinking too much about yourself.
Publishers Weekly described 'The Book of Joy as a sparkling, wise, and immediately useful gift to readers from two remarkable spiritual masters offers hope that joy is possible for everyone even in the most difficult circumstances, and describes a clear path for attaining it.'
Published by Random House on Sept 20 2016, The Book Of Joy is a New York Times bestseller.
