But he fell back to earth after he failed to come up with any original idea for Flavour’s ‘Dance’ video released via Youtube. The video which was shot and directed by Clarence Peters is a total rip-off of US pop singer, Justin Bieber’s, video ‘Sorry’, which was released last year (October 22, 2015). Peters not only copied the basics of the visual, he also had the beginning of the video completely copy Bieber’s.

The famous video was shot against a seamless white background, with girls spotting colorful costumes going through intricate dance patterns and choreography. That’s exactly what Clarence offers, although with slight variations via the appearance of Flavour in the visual. Bieber didn’t show up in his.

This isn’t the first time Clarence Peters has been involved in concept-appropriation. In 2013, the director came under fire when he ripped-off American rap group, Slaughterhouse’s visual to create a video for Ice Prince’s ‘VIP’. Also in 2013, South African rapper Tumi Molekane accused the director of stealing the concept of his music video ‘Asinamali to shoot Tiwa Savage‘s ‘Eminado‘ music video. The latter was almost a carbon copy of the former.
