"I'm Leaving Chelsea" - Ashley Cole

Chelsea left back, Ashley Cole has said he would be leaving Chelsea and does not intend to be with them in the coming 2014/2015 season premiership season after he was put out of contract. The Former Arsenal player who switched to Chelsea from the Reds of North, London to the Blues of Stamford in 2006, does not have Chelsea in his plans for the coming football season. According to him, 'I am weighing up my options for playing next season with my agent. It does not look like Chelsea will be one...

This is coming after the 33-year old, 107-time capped Lions player announced his retirement from the National team after being left out of England's World Cup list, earlier in the month. Cole, the premiership winner in 2010 and the 2012 champions league, has also won 4 FA cups, the 2007 League Cup and was with the team in the 2013 Europa League triumph under Rafeal Benitez.

His plan to leave Chelsea could mostly be traced to his frustrating spell under Mourinho in the 2013/2014 season. Like every player, Cole is on another career path and hopes it could be better than it was the past season, he says 'Now I'll be looking for another journey in my life; I hope it can be like my others, full of fun and of course WIN something''

The uncontracted player wishes his soon to be former employers the best of gratitude saying, ''Thank you Chelsea for making my eight years a pleasure. We've been through a lot, good and bad.'' To the fans; 'I can only say thank you for giving the boys confidence to win some amazing trophies. To the fans that have stood by me through thick and thin, I will always have you in my heart.''

Any hope that Chelsea could offer him a contract to keep him from leaving the Stamford bridge is doubtful, especially since Mourinho has not clearly indicated his desire to keep the player.
