Udoka's Celtics 1 win away from NBA Finals after 93-80 win against Heat in Game 5

The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 93-80 at the FTX Arena in Game five of the 2022 NBA Eastern Conference Finals played in the early hours of Thursday, May 26, 2022.

There have been no had each team win every other game until game 5.

Coming off a resounding blow out victory in front of their home fans at TD Garden in Massachusetts, the Celtics dominated in Miami from start to finish.

Miami continued their struggles shooting from the three-point line as the Celtic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 47 points in the win.

The Boston Celtics led by Ime Udoka came into Game 5 knowing that a loss means they need two win the next two.

In order to avoid a game 7 in Miami, the Celtics started off strong but lost the first quarter 19-17. The Heat playing at home took the second quarter also 23-20.

The Celtics however would have a massive third quarter 32-16 to take the lead going into the fourth.

Udoka's Celtics kept their advantage in fourth as they blew out the Heat on their home court.

With the victory, the Celtics now have the opportunity to wrap up the series on home court in Game six.

Celtics Guard Jaylen Brown who led all scorers with 25 points praised his teammates for the victory.

He said, "Derrick the last two games has been fantastic, poise, under control, and made timely baskets. Al is old reliable. Al does what he's been doing his whole career. Stepping up in big moments.

"It's the Playoffs, if you want to do anything special that's what it's going to take, winning on the road, winning when you're not hitting shots."

In the Western Conference Finals, the Dallas Mavericks avoided a sweep against the Golden State Warriors as they took game 4.

The Celtics and Warriors are now both one win away from a place in the NBA Finals
