On Saturday, Trevor and Rosemarie Abbud were having a fun day on the beach in New Jersey with their 17-month-old son when Rosemarie’s water broke.
Woman goes into labour whilst stuck in traffic!
A New Jersey lady went into labour and was forced to give birth, all the while stuck in traffic.
She told ABC News, "I went into labour a week early, I was actually due the 29th.”
They immediately tried to make it to the hospital but, unfortunately, got stuck in a traffic jam in New Jersey.
When Rosemarie started to go into labour whilst they were still in traffic, Trevor placed a 911 call with panic in his voice.
“Do you have a cop coming because she’s having the baby. Dear God. I need help. I need help.”
“It went from like this is it, you know, to I’m going to have to deliver this baby. I blasted the horn to get people’s attention.”
Luckily for them an emergency medical technician (EMT), Lauren Kammerer, was in a car behind them so she helped to deliver the baby.
“Her head and her shoulder were already out by the time we got there, so it was literally like, 'Okay, you ready to push?', and she did."
Rosemariegave birth to a healthy daughter called Bella Rose Abbud, weighing 7 pounds, 13 oz, in the front seat of the family’s car.
Thankfully, both mom and child are doing fine.
“It couldn't have worked out any better,” Trevor said, while his wife added she “would prefer to be in the hospital.”
