The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has condemned the recent attack on Ibrahim Mau’s home.

According to reports, gunmen attacked the EFCC boss’ bungalow farmhouse in Karshi, Abuja at about 10pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Sources say a police man was killed during the attack, adding that it is the second time gunmen have come to the house.

Speaking on the incident, EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren said the anti-graft agency will not be intimidated.

Punch reports that Uwujaren also said “The unidentified men murdered a police sergeant on duty. The incident was the second such attack on the same farmhouse.

“While the commission will not speculate on the motives for the attack or the sponsors, it wishes to state that the EFCC under the leadership of Ibrahim Magu will not be deterred in its mission to rid Nigeria of corruption.”

Anti-corruption war must be won

Ibrahim Magu recently told newsmen during a walk against corruption in Abuja that Nigerians must resolve to either win the battle against corruption or die trying.

The EFCC boss also said that the war must be won for the growth of Nigeria.

Magu was recently endorsed by 25 countries around the world for his relentless fight against corruption.

Reports say the endorsement was the outcome of an opinion poll conducted by UK-based Global Peace Movement International.
